Kellie Morgan
Art is definitely in my DNA, even if it took me half a century to figure out what I was actually doing with it! I'm at my best when I'm embracing imperfect layers, mixing textures, and just letting a piece evolve into whatever it wants to be. That creative freedom? Worth every single step of the journey. My style is basically organized mayhem. I build depth out of heavy layers of paper, color, grit, and scraped textures—sometimes with a random treasure from the yard thrown in for good measure. Whether I'm working on canvas, paper, or my computer, it all starts with color. Color runs the show. It hooks my brain immediately and sets the tone for every layer that follows. I design for makers who actually make things, which means every sheet is packed with artwork at multiple scales—because who really uses a giant full-sheet design on a tin can? My art is meant to land somewhere between a head tilt and a quiet chuckle, and I hope it brings a little of that same joy to whatever you're creating.

Built From Beautiful Mess

Kellie builds every design in layers — paper texture, scripted font, edited images and thoughtful accents — stacking each one until the piece feels right. Her designs land somewhere between cozy and quietly quirky, never quite the same twice.

Three designs: "Bloom where you are planted" text with pink flowers; "He leads, I follow" text with a tulip; large halftone flower.

How would you describe your style?

Organized mayhem, honestly. I love heavy layers, scraped textures, unexpected color combinations, and the occasional yard-find worked into the mix. It's controlled chaos with a lot of heart behind it, and somehow it always seems to find its own direction once I get started.

What's your biggest source of inspiration?

Color, without a single hesitation. It's the first thing that hooks me and completely sets the tone for everything that follows. Some palettes feel warm and cozy and pull you right in, while others hit with a quirky, slightly unhinged energy that just demands to be left alone to do its thing.

Why did you design for multiple scales?

Because I'm a maker too, and I almost never reach for a full giant sheet myself! I wanted designs that work beautifully on a tin can just as much as on a big canvas. Multi-scaled artwork means you get real creative flexibility without any awkward cropping or wasted paper.
