Color, Soul, and a Wink

Amanda has been seeing the world through an artist's eye since her grandma first handed her a paintbrush — and she never stopped. Her designs span every style, every season, and every color the rainbow has to offer, tied together by one thing: a sense of humor and a whole lot of heart. Florals sit next to the unexpected. Metallics meet the whimsical. The serious and the silly share space, because that's what life looks like. Every design is an invitation to take something forgotten and make it the most interesting thing in the room.

What kinds of themes and subjects keep showing up in your designs?

Color is always there — I genuinely cannot help myself. Florals show up constantly, along with metallics, texture, and anything with a little personality or humor tucked into it. My designs cross a lot of styles because I cross a lot of styles as an artist. You might see something botanical right next to something mystical or something vintage right next to something totally modern. I'm inspired by the seasons, by life's phases, by the full human experience — the hard parts and the beautiful parts both. Every piece I create is really about transformation.

Where does that sense of whimsy actually come from for you?

Honestly, it's just how my brain works. My grandma handed me a paintbrush when I was very young and something clicked — I've always seen things a little differently. I look at a discarded chair or a chipped teacup and I see possibility, story, humor, beauty. The whimsy isn't something I add on top of the work. It's baked in from the very beginning because that's genuinely how I move through the world. If I can imagine it, I can create it — and I almost always imagine something a little unexpected.

Who is the person who tends to fall in love with your style?

Someone who doesn't want their home to look like everyone else's. Someone who picks up a piece of furniture at a thrift store and sees what it could be instead of what it is. They love color, they appreciate a little humor in their decor, and they're not afraid to mix styles or take creative risks. My people are reimaginers — collectors, makers, treasure hunters. They want their spaces to feel personal and layered and alive, not curated from a catalog.
